Burning Candle is a strong universal Common relic that gives you a damage advantage in the critical opening turns of every fight. Two stacks of Vulnerable means the enemy takes increased damage right away, which is when you are most likely to be setting up your board rather than dealing full damage. This relic shines in aggro decks that want to front-load burst damage in turns one and two.
It combos naturally with Shadow Mask, since applying Weakness alongside the starting Vulnerable creates a double debuff opening. Cracked Hourglass also pairs well, letting you tutor your best attacks into hand on turn one to capitalize on the Vulnerable window. The relic loses value in slow, defensive decks that do not deal significant damage in the first few turns.
Against bosses with long fights, the initial two stacks wear off before the fight ends. Priority: always pick in most decks; free opening damage amplification with no downside is universally strong.
